Here is a nice original 1c machine that rarely shows up. Probably used in the 1930's and 40's.
Vintage wall hanging Advance gumball vendor in working condition. Measures 18" tall x 8" wide. It is a sheet metal designed machine.Made to wall mount if you want. Gumball drops out the front bottom chute. If you mount it on a wall, it locks from underneath and the machine would push down away from the back door to access the inside where the coin box is located and to refill the machine.
Back door is tight to slide off when not mounted onto a wall. Both locks work, keys not original. Some paint loss on the back door, see photos. The mechanism is pretty neat. If you look at the inside pictures, you will see how the bottom of the vending wheel has pointed shaped metal teeth. When you insert the penny and turn the handle, one of the 3 round rods attached to the back of the mechanism catches the slanted teeth as you turn to the right and as you turn the handle back to staring position, the other round rod moves the vending wheel a little more. The wording along the top reads to "Turn handle forward and backward". I ran several pennies through the machine and it operates. Sometimes a little tight to turn one way but all is working. This has been sitting on my shelf for a few years. This is the nicest one I have seen of this model in the past. Have only seen 1-2 others that I can remember. Well packed UPS in the U.
