Please read entire ad so there is no confusion. As I continue to downsize my collection here is a Rare "Victor Challenger" made only in 1940. So this machine is over 75 years old and It's been years since I've seen one of these machines come up for sale. This is a real collectable and a great piece of Americana.

Page 190 of Silent Salesmen Too for a description. This is a cast iron and I "think" porcelain machine, it's very heavy. Only difference between this machine and a Model V is the base with cast iron feet. The coin mech and the geared wheel to turn the vending wheel are "brass", I've never seen this before and I think this is only on Challenger machines. Old rubber feet and one has the bolt head protruding, and again, I've not done a thing to this vender. This has the correct lid for a Model V. The lock screws on enough to hold the globe secure but maybe a longer rod or the rod needs cleaning or.... One of the globe hold down rods is not screwing into the hole so I don't know if hole needs to be cleaned or maybe a little bigger hold down rod. The globe is very dirty but I see no chips or cracks. It is a Victor Globe and old vendors would use what ever decal they had to show the correct denomination.

They weren't advertising the machine and that's why there is an Oak decal on the globe. I've done nothing to this machine but what I have noticed is the coin mech works about half the time, maybe a good cleaning?

I noticed when I inserted a penny that there was no return spring but I will include an old one that I have. I do not see any damage to the body of the machine or the base.

I will remove the globe and box it separately. This machine will be insured for it's full sale value. Please look closely at pictures as this is the exact machine you will receive. This will come from a smoke free home so it will arrive nice and fresh. The item "Antique/Vintage Gumball/Peanut Machine Victor Challenger 1 Cent Coin OP" is in sale since Friday, July 08, 2016.
