This Vintage 1950's Restaurant Swami Fortune Teller Napkin Holder Coin Op Machine. Is appealing, desirable & collectible. This is a fantastic vintage 1950's Swami Fortune Teller napkin dispenser and menu holder.

This piece is original great Americana diner art. You may remember the Twilight Zone episode starring William Shatner that featured a machine very much like this one. The front has a window advertisement headed "Ask Swami" showing questions you can ask for a penny.

These were placed on counters and tables in diners & restaurants, While you waited for your order you could put a penny in, push down the lever, & have your yes-or-no question answered as well as getting a fortune or saying. We present this piece exactly as it was when acquired. No attempts to clean it have been made. There is vintage wear from use which is shown in the photos. This dispenser has fortunes inside & there are extra fortunes included. On either side is a napkin dispenser & the back has slots for holding menus. The chrome is in nice condition. The mechanism works when a penny is inserted but it does not dispense the fortunes.

I do not know if it needs replacement or there is an adjustment. These issues do not detract from the overall appeal of this Swami dispenser.

It comes complete with the original lock & working key. The key turns hard when locking & unlocking. It measures 7" wide, 5" deep & 8.5 tall.

It displays well & it will make a great addition to any home or collection. The photos are an important part of. We will gladly provide additional photos if more are needed.
