Vintage 5 Cent Hot Nut Peanut Gumball Coin Operated Vending Machine Lighted Work

Hot nuts machine number #77413 has been completely gone through and the coin mechanism works like a charm. This machine was manufactured by Alkuno & Co.

INC in New York New York. Alkuno was very popular in the Northern US during the 1940's and was well known for their candy and vending machines during this time. They made quality coin operated machines and this one is no different.

The machine is roughly 23 inches tall and 13 inches wide at its widest point. The wiring has been replaced but it exactly how it was originally. The picture with the bigger sized light bulb was taken just so you would know it works.

I didn't have a small bulb like it takes and the yellow one that was in it was blown. This machine has been primed up and ready for you to paint or you can leave just like it is.

The original cup holder is on the side and the original change tray is in its spot below. The lock had to be drilled to get into it so if you actually want to lock it you would need a cheap barrel lock from somewhere like Home Depot or you can use a screw driver right now and lock it just as is you had a key. The red top is a really thick heavy cast aluminum or cast iron one. When you put in your nickel the handle turns freely just like it did many many years ago when this machine was made.

The glass globe has 10 sides that really show off all the bubbles in the super old thick glass. This could easily become the show piece in your mancave, gameroom, office, or anywhere in your home that you want a true vintage collectible coin operated and lighted piece of history. All the metal sides of the machine are straight and free from any major problems. Being as old as this machine is it is in excellent condition especially after it was just serviced.

You can fill this machine with anything you like that is about the size of a peanut or maybe a little larger. This machine does show some normal signs of wear from age but nothing serious and certainly nothing that affects its operation.
