Vintage VMC 44 Vendo Coke Coca Cola Vending Machine
Very Collectable because of its compact size, restored VMC44, Restored over a year ago so it has a couple small scratches scuffs and couple unnoticeable tiny chips where doors make contact, machine was totally disassembled, soda blasted to bare metal, cut out and welded in a new tub floor (between rack and compressor because old ones rot) coated that with por15 along with the bottom of machine before painting to protect it, machine also has all new insulation inside. Has original unique vmc stamped key with it (very rare key). The Coca-cola on front was hand painted, "have a coke" on sides were vinyl decals and all clear-coated over to protect them, on the coin door, all but "ice cold" and "return bottles" were also clear-coated over, so in future anyone could have option of returning it back to "out of factory" look. I have a large 10 cents vinyl decal I was going to put on lower part of front below the vmc, but because many of the restored vending machines out there are loaded up with aftermarket stickers and pinstripes I decided not to, but will include decal with it, I wanted to try to keep the original factory look to it as much as possible, only added the " ICE COLD" which I had custom made, so its one of a kind, similar to the older Westinghouse Coca cola chests to fill in the large blank space, which can be removed with a hair dryer if wanted. Refrigeration is all original and rewired along with a new start relay capacitor and works perfect, had it set on 3 and was just above 32 deg. When restoring it on the inside, I took considerable extra care to preserve the original factory galvanized finish that was painted over, yet wanted to leave a touch of wear and some patina on it, not just spray silver paint it as most people do, to preserve that I gave the parts a coating of satin clear-coat, couple small parts I had no choice but to paint. This machine vends the old style coke bottles, they do make conversion rocker arms to vend 12 oz cans and originals can be modified for new bottles, I was going to make my own to vend small beer bottles but never got around to it. Machine works on nickles, couldn't figure out how to get dimes to work, I'm no expert on coin mechanisms, there are videos out there to show how to set it up to free vend which I never tried....
