Vintage 1940s Reliance Pencil Dispenser 5 Cent Coin Operated Vending Machine

The mechanism is frozen (tried to use nickel and it got stuck in the mechanism). I'm sure some lubricant and some TLC the mechanism can be fixed. Appears the top right corner was pried on a bit.
