I couldn't seem to pin down an exact date of when it was manufactured. At first I figured it was 1988, as that's the year stamps became 25 cents a piece. But I'm glad I did the research and paid attention. I found numerous identical machines with the only difference being these machines had 3 slots instead of two.
In 1970 stamps were 6 cents a piece. By 1978 they were 15 cents. Then I noticed the old (yellowed) newspaper/yellow pages that the screw in feet were wrapped in (covered in oil to prevent hardening and cracking over time) was printed in 1970. The person that originally owned this machine took very good care of it.
The only major flaw is a chip in the lower, front, right hand side of the corkboard base. And a smaller chip on the lower, front, left hand side of the same base. Beyond that it's nearly flawless.
There are a few tiny imperfections beyond that, but for an item with this many years behind it, it is in impeccable condition. And I believe it to have been manufactured circa 1970's. This is an awesome piece of history for any stamp collector, vending machine collector, or history buff.
